Abstract:
In this interview, Francisco Carlos Teixeira da Silva, full professor of Contemporary History at UFRJ, analyzes the arrival of the history of the present in Brazil and the paths that the new field has followed in a country that had just emerged from the civil-military dictatorship (1964-1985) and is in the process of building a new democracy. Founder of the Laboratory of Present Time Studies (Tempo), Francisco Carlos also points out the problems and challenges facing recent history in Brazil.
